Dmitrov, Moscow region

Dmitrov has recently gave up on cabbage, cows, and cheap coal as a foundation of its economy, and is now successfully attracting tourists. Very soon it may be announced as a new "official" member of the "Golden Ring" concept. Not recommended as a place to stop for budget travellers. Suitable for one-day trip from Moscow.

Where is Dmitrov? 60-70km north from Moscow on your way to Kalyazin, Kashin, Myshkin, and finally Yaroslavl. Sergiev Posad, Dmitrov, Yakhroma, and Klin form one loop that can be "done" in one long summer day.
