This established tourist route
includes Khotkovo, Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Vladimir, Suzdal, Rostov-the-Great,
Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo...
Being in the traveller rip-o...oops,
support business I have no choice but to get into the trough by offering myself
as a personal driver/fixer and a bit of a guide to those wishing to "do" the
Golden Ring, thus this page.
Also I'm trying to develop an
"itinerary" through Sergiev Posad, which is definitely a Golden Ring city, then
Dimitrov, which wants to become one, then Klin made into a tourist attraction by
the fact that Tchaikovsky lived and worked there, on to Tver and then Staritsa,
where I keep my "dacha" and on to St. Petersburg though small towns and
villages. I market this exercise in self-inflicted misery under the slogan of
"let me show you the authentic and un-touristy Russia". The nature of my
interest is to get you to hire me as your personal guide and driver but that's
another story...
