A typical trucker stop. Rough and Spartan but cheap, has the essentials, and truckers will not party at night. In about 2008, three years ago, 400 roubles would get you a simple room with three beds. 100 roubles to use bath/shower, 150 roubles bought a reasonably vegetarian meal that included a shot of vodka and a beer. The total bill for a party of three to stay there overnight would be $30-50. I drove past this hotel in August 2011 and it looked just as cheap as before.

When I stayed there - and it was about five years ago, around 2008  - I notice and appreciated the clerk's filling out hotel registration slips for me, a dog-tired traveller. Up till very recently clients were required to fill out these registration forms in duplicate even in fairly expensive hotels!
