  1. I am looking for Information on A small village named ANEEVKA. All I know is that it is in The Orenburg Region in Russia. I was told that it is a small village. Could you please tell me if this is true ? Any information you can give me would be much appreciated. Thank You.

    • Dennis,

Here is what I found at http://toropceva.com/adamovskiy-rayon-orenburgskoy-oblasti-i-ego-antroponimyi.html:

Аневка. Основана в 1908 году первопоселенцем Никитой Кошелем, а также Яковом Рыбалко, Романом Пометуном.Со времен основания называлось село Кошелевкой в честь основателя. Потом название поменяли, так как Кошель выступал на стороне дутовцев. Название Аневка закрепилось в 30 годы 20 века , возможно, название дано в честь Александра Невского.

Translation: Anevka. Established in 1908 by its first settler Nikita Koshelev, and also Jakov Rybalko and Roman Pometun. From its foundation the village was called Koshelevka after its founder. Then the name was changed because Koshel was active on the Dutov side. The name Anevka came firmly in use in the 20s and 30s, possibly in honour of Alexander Nevsky.

I also found an empty site of Anevka (it appears to be Anevka rather than Aneevka): http://miselo.ru/site/selo/anevka/102594.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

      Pasha
