Location: near Tchaikovsky, 7-10 min. from Train Station. Probably 20 min. to city center, or 5 min. by streetcar. 

Bachelor, on single bed.

Basic equipment

70s style

Stayed there myself in Feb. 2005 and found it quite worth the price.

Easy access to anywhere in the city by treetcar.

70s style, complete with a wall rug and a table designed to tip over.

Lots of mirrors in the apartment. Can't hide from yourself no matter what you do.

Mailboxes downstairs

Two sets of doors, one of which is reinforced steel, and 6 locks to keep you safe.

 

Garden plots outside the building

70s furniture. Old-timers like me remember lineups to get these little  monstrosities.

  Note that buildings of this sort are not sound-proof.

  The bed

A scene from the bathroom. Before saying yuk remember that you are paying $14 per night. If you can't take the inevitable consequences of cheapness, $50-100 will get you a good room in a hotel.

All-in-all quite satisfactory. The same amount gets you a very basic room in a hotel and perhaps just a bed in a "room of rest" type establishment, shared with someone who hasn't taken a bath in two weeks. Definitely worth the price but can't be recommended to everyone.
